Persuasion is an essential element of the sales process. It helps you trump your competition very effectively if you use it properly. The more people you can persuade, the more sales you can make, even if your competitor is selling the exact same thing you are selling. All you need is to create some sort of branding or theme that makes your product or service look different, even if it isn't. If you can do this, and get this message out to a large number of people, then you're learning the secrets of mass persuasion. These secrets are hugely powerful to your business, and can take you from flop to flying high on success.

To properly use mass persuasion, you'll need to learn psychological tips and tricks that will allow you to affect the minds of thousands to millions of people, depending on how many people you want to reach. While this does take some instruction, it's not as difficult as it may sound. The psychological tricks used in this technique are relatively simple and well known to psychologists, however, they're not widely known by the general public. Once you get your hands on these secrets, there's virtually no end to the number of products or amount of services you can sell.

The most important thing to remember is to get your prospects emotionally invested in what you're offering. They need to feel that it's personally important to them somehow. It's like if you're training for a marathon and are very focused on that goal, then the idea of finishing the marathon without stopping is an emotional investment for you. You feel like it's important, and the idea of NOT finishing is unthinkable to you. You want your prospects to feel like that about what you have to offer them. You want them to feel personally invested in YOUR particular thing, even if it's the same thing that 100 other people are selling.

You also need to build some tension. People need to feel subtly moved to buy what you're selling, without you having to ask for a sale. Push them toward it, make them feel like they'll be missing out on something if they don't get this particular thing from YOU, but do it gradually, in increments. Pull back from time to time to give them a chance to relax, then slowly raise the tension again, more and more each time, until they feel compelled to buy.

Finally, your prospects need to feel that they're special and set apart (in a good way) by getting this particular product or service from you. If you can make yourself stand for something that can give prospects a sense of pride in having purchased from you, you'll make a ton of sales. Make yourself stand out by branding yourself with a reputation for superior quality, catering to the wealthy or those with fine tastes, or supporting the local community. Do this while spreading this message around far and wide, and you'll have mastered the art of mass persuasion.
